A knitathon in aid of good causes brought nearly 100 people of all ages together.
Knitters at St Peter’s ad Vincula Church, Coggeshall, created more than 100 squares which will be sown into cot blankets for the Feed the Children charity and maternity unit of the Kalene Mission Hospital in northern Zambia.
The event, on March 6, was a “very enjoyable social occasion,” said its organiser Margaret Gibson, of St Peter’s Knit and Natter group.
The Rev Philip Banks said: “This was a fabulous initiative which involved the whole community, young and old, in bringing relief and comfort to some very needy children and babies in the poorest parts of our world.”
