A developer has unveiled details of the second stage of its 750 home estate in Witham.

Redrow Homes has applied for planning permission to construct 84 more new homes at its The Mulberries development, in Lodge Road.

Documents detail the size and scale of the homes which will be built, with 31 properties being designated affordable and offered for shared ownership and at affordable rents.

Property consultants Strutt and Parker has submitted a letter relating to the latest application.

It states: "The design and form of the proposed dwellings and apartment blocks has been carefully developed to ensure they are in keeping with the local character of Witham.

"All of the properties within this phase form part of Redrow’s Witham Range which has been specifically developed for use on the first three phases of the site to provide a coherent character across the first phases of the development which reflects the Essex vernacular."

Once the estate is complete, a primary school, early years centre, and an enterprise centre will be on site, along with 750 homes.

A planning application for the third stage of the development is set to be submitted latest this summer.
