Halstead-based arts company, Abigail's Performing Arts, are putting on a musical at the Braintree Arts Theatre next month.

On Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25, the group will bring their take on "9 to 5: The Musical" to the Notley Road venue, in aid of Little Havens Children's Hospice.

With lyrics from Dolly Parton, the musical is set in the 1970s and focuses on three female co-workers, who give their sexist, bigoted boss what's been coming to him and take control of the company.

There will be three performances at the Arts Theatre. The first is at 2pm on Saturday, March 24, the second at 7pm on the same date and the third on Sunday, March 25 at 4pm.

To book tickets for the show, priced at £15 for adults and £13 for concessions, call 01376 556 354. The whole production is in aid of Little Havens, based in Essex, who provide hospice care for babies, children, teenagers and adults, and their families, who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting or serious illness.

Abigail, of the self-named performing arts company, said: "Since 2014, Abigail's Performing Arts has been the talk of the town thanks to our wide range of quality entertainment productions.

"We strongly believe in engaging with the community and embracing the talents of our local aspiring artists, as well as raising money for worthy charities."

The production is not suitable for those under the age of 12. For more information, go to www.braintreeartstheatre.com.
