A team of dedicated employees volunteered their time to a charity, which helps the lonely and homeless around Christmas.

Four members of Braintree company Sharon Lee, which sells headwear, volunteered a few hours out of their day on December 7 for the Salvation Army, in Rayne Road.

Volunteers - David Arnold, Stephen Clarke, Jess Malone and Aimee Todd - also donated eight bags of dried and tinned food with their team in less than a week.

Mr Arnold said: "We wanted to donate and volunteer to a local charity which supports and provides for the lonely and homeless around the Christmas period.

"Four members of our team took a few hours out of our work day and headed down to help out in the kitchens.

"We helped serve the food up, dish the food out, including seconds, and help wash up afterwards as well.

"It felt amazing to help out the community and give something back around the Christmas period."
