Housing association residents with mobility issues are being given the opportunity to join an exercise class taking place miles away, from the comfort of their own chairs.
A new Greenfields' class has been launched at Braintree's Tabor Centre after a successful trial.
Residents will be able to digitally join a class taking place at one of the housing association's elderly persons' scheme in Braintree run by Diane Wyatt via Skype.
James Taylor, Greenfields’ health and wellbeing co-ordinator, said: “The programme is potentially life-changing.
"Not only does it provide much-needed exercise that promotes mobility and strength, but there are several tangible outcomes for the participants; ranging from them requiring less medical treatment for ailments and conditions, to reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness.
"The programme is also beneficial for those who lead the classes; both physically and mentally.”
Chair based exercise classes take place for Greenfields' residents across the district.
