An illegal rave was shut down by police on private land in Ridgewell.
Essex Police were called to a stretch of land adjoining Rivenhall Airfield, in Ashen Road, at around 7am on Sunday.
On arrival, officers found around 100 revellers were taking part in an unauthorised rave in what is believed to be a disused barn.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We received reports of criminal damage, trespassing and a noise disturbance at Ridgewell Airfield, at around 7am on Sunday, November 19.
"Officers attended and found around 100 people taking part in an unauthorised event.
"We gave a direction to leave and the participants left the area."
Essex Police officers worked at the scene with support from Essex Operational Support Group to shut down the event.
Paul Wells, District Commander for Tendring, said on Twitter: "Revellers think it's innocent fun but landowners and residents, not so much.
"Thanks to Braintree police and thanks to @EssexOSG for drone support. #verycold #tryCharades."
Essex Gliding Club, which operates from the airfield, confirmed that the rave did not take place on land under their control.
The owner of the strip of land is unknown.
