A pet charity is launching a major cat welfare initiative where people can get their pet snipped and chipped for £5.

The Colne Valley branch of Cats Protection has joined forces with Catley Cross Vets, Millennium Vets and Vets4Pets Braintree to offer the scheme for those on low incomes.

If you receive benefits, are a student, pensioner or working but on a low income, you can have your cat neutered or spayed and chipped for a flat contribution of £5.

Send your £5 via Cats Protections’s website www.colnevalleycats.org.uk and include your phone number and your cat’s sex, name and age as well as the vet you would like to use.

The charity will let you know when the voucher for the procedure and the chip have been sent to the vet.

Alternatively, you can collect your voucher from the Cats Protection shop at 75 High Street, Halstead on November 25.
