A wedding film company has been breaking national news after the advancements drone technology has made to their business.

Red Carpet Video specialise in creating wedding films, but have been featured on both the BBC and ITV news with their footage of the industrial fire at Braintree’s Springwood Estate in September.

Thanks to its drone, the company were not only able to grab some unrivalled footage of the fire, but also assist both police and the fire brigade.

Run by husband and wife, Brian and Tracey Abram, Red Carpet Video first purchased a drone in 2013, and gave it its first taste of breaking news with the John Ray Infant School fire.

Brian said. “With the continued growth in the popularity of professional Wedding Films and Commercial Aerial Filming, by having the right qualifications to fly a drone and all filming equipment ready at a moments notices, such as the fire in Braintree, that both Tracey and I attended the scene after being woken up with the unforgettable crackling noise.

“On arrival and liaising with the local police cordon and offering any aerial support, to the fire brigade they captured the unique commercial aerial footage that was shown on national TV.” The company is based within Martels Wedding and Event Village at Barnston, Great Dunmow.

Tracey said: “This is the second time that we have had the opportunity to share our unique footage on TV, as Brian captured the John Ray Infant School in 2013 with his first drone. It was all a bit more shaky then but the technology has improved so much and the efficiency and subsequently the safety of drones has significantly improved.”

Red Carpet Video is qualified by the CAA for commercial work, allowing their drone footage to be used in commercial publication.

Despite branching into the world of breaking news, Brian and Tracey are still focused on making people’s big day as special as it can be, including making it memorable through the use of cinema.

Brian said: “ Even though mobile phone devices have improved significantly in filming quality, we have seen a steady growth in professional wedding film services.

“It makes it all worthwhile and knowing you have provided the most beautiful visual digital memories to be enjoyed for generations to come.

“Especially with aerial footage of some of the awesome wedding venues we have in Essex.”

The family-run company have won a host of national awards in the past.
