A new park will be created on land where one of Braintree's former railway connections sat.
Braintree Council is progressing with its development of land near Rose Hill, where the old railway connection to Braintree Gas Works used to be located.
The plan is to open up the space so that everyone can enjoy it, with proposals incorporating both children's and adults fitness trails.
Working on the project with residents, the land has now been cleared of rubbish and dense vegetation, ready for plans to be finalised.
Wendy Schmitt, councillor resonsible for environment and place, said: “We are encouraging local residents to give their feedback and tell us what they think of the design plan for Rose Hill.
"We want to make sure the developments are what our residents want and ensure we provide an enhanced green space for all of the community to enjoy.”
A consultation event is being held on Tuesday, October 17, at the Rose Hill, between 3pm and 6pm.
Once the consultation closes on October 30, a report will be compiled and the work will go out to tender.
