A CARE agency has been told further work is need to get it up to scratch during its latest inspection report.

Greenfield Care Limited, in Chapel Road, Halstead, was inspected by the Care Quality Commission in May and was rated as ‘requires improvement’ by the watchdog for the second inspection in a row.

The watchdog said that whilst “some improvements” had been made, including in safeguarding procedures.

However

The report states: “Some staff training had been undertaken but there were gaps and there was a need for a more comprehensive training strategy.

“Medicines were being managed in a safer way but there was a need for greater oversight and we have made a recommendation regarding this.”

People’s experiences of the care agency was said to be good and individual staff were often described as “caring and considerate” by service users.

The report states: “Staff told us they were motivated and worked well as a team.

“They had confidence in their colleagues and described a culture where they were valued and they in turn went the extra mile to support people.”

A concern was raised on the level of staff training at the company.

Glenn Evans, manager of Greenfield Care Limited, said: “As per our inspection report we have made minor failures only with regards to paperwork, which is continually being monitored, improved and updated.

“We have taken on board all relevant suggestions from the CQC inspector and are continuing to work alongside with their guidance and help to improve our rating in the shortest possible time.”
