A GROUP of dancing grannies faced off against a group of reality TV superstars at a care home's summer fete.

Four grannies and five Honey Gs took to the stage at Sonnet Care Homes' annual event in Bocking.

As the performers took their final bows, they pulled off their wigs to reveal the tribute acts were made up of the homes' directors and management team, who had been practicing in secret for months.

Julia Clinton, CEO of Sonnet Care Homes, said: “My thanks to Cameron Whitehouse, who not only organised the choreography and music but gave up a great deal of his time teaching us the moves.”

The fete took place across New Deanery and St Mary's Court homes, and raised £358 for the Alzheimer's Society.

Entertainment was also provided by Bocking Concert Brass, Alan Oakley, Pygmy Hedgehogs and Joey the Juggler.

Jo Whitehouse, activities manager for Sonnet Care Homes, said: “The fete was a huge success, the atmosphere was buzzing and so well attended. I would like to thank everyone who helped make this event so special. It was lovely to see so many relatives and families enjoying themselves.”
