A HOUSING association is celebrating its tenth birthday with a round of community based events.

Greenfields Community Housing turn is aiming to bring together local communities with events under the Make a Difference banner, like a barbecue and games afternoon at one of their newest developments, The Spinney in Witham.

There have also been community clean-up days in Braintree, Halstead and Earls Colne that included gardening, spring cleaning, litter-picking and consulting with residents on improvements.

Each event aims to encourage neighbours to build good relationships with each other and tackle specific issues in that area.

Arron Samson, Greenfields’ neighbourhood manager, said: “Each event gives us the chance to support our residents in a variety of ways – be it to tidy their gardens, have a good clear-out, get to know their neighbours or just keep their children busy in the holidays.

"We also want to draw attention to all the services we and our partners offer, so they know that we’re there when they need us.”

The next Make a Difference event will be a fit and fun fest at Bramble Park, Witham, on Tuesday, July 25. Children's rides and inflatables are part of the fun.
