WITHAM'S re-elected MP has vowed to continue to fight for NHS services in the area after it was announced that Broomfield A&E department will receive a £3million cash boost.
The extra cash, allocated as part of the Spring Burdget, will be used to support the department and help improve patient capacity.
Witham MP Priti Patel said that she was "delighted" that Broomfield would benefit from the funding boost from the government.
Ms Patel said: "Whilst other candidates talked about the NHS during the 2017 General Election, I was actively giving my support to Broomfield and their plans to expand local emergency services.
"Now that I am re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Witham, I will continue to work with local hospitals to prioritise my constituent’s healthcare needs and ensure patients continue to have access to high quality NHS services.”
An additional £100million has been allocated by the government for A&E funding across the country.
