AN event bringing the community of Coggeshall together has been hailed a big success.

On Saturday residents of the market town took to the streets to explore its annual jumble trail.

Families across the town set up pitches outside their homes or at Christ Church, in Stoneham Street, selling clothes, toys, furniture, antiques and more.

Many residents used their stalls to fundraise for different charities.

Sarah Cooper, one of the organisers, said: "Coggeshall was very busy, with loads of people commenting on how it felt the way Coggeshall 'used' to be and hasn't for at least 20 years.

"It was a great community event, with the shops getting involved and a lot of people out and about from locals, to people as far away as Chelmsford coming to have a look around.

"It is the third time we've done it and next year will be bigger and better as we have a plan to make it an even bigger community event."

An inflatable family fun day is the next big event coming up and will take place at St Peter's Primary School, in Myneer Park, on May 21.

All proceeds raised from this event will go to the school.
