A CHARITY craft fair in honour of two young fighters raised more than £300.

The fair took place at Hatfield Peverel Village on Sunday, March 19 and was inspired by two youngsters who have been fighting adversity all their lives, Kristin Poole and Jamie Franks.

In total the organisers raised £342 which will be split between the Nation Deaf Children's Society and SCOPE.

Sandra Wiseman, one of the organisers, said: "We would like to thank the people who came along to support us at the craft fair.

"We would also like to thank all the stall holders and their many different talents that made the craft fair possible.

"Finally we would like to thank all the volunteers who helped on the day so it went as smoothly as possible."

Next in the calendar of fundraising events there will be a nearly new sale held at the village hall in May and a fashion show in June.
