POLICE are appealing for information after children's Christmas presents were stolen during a burglary.

The burglary in Warehouse Road, Stebbing, took place between December 19 and January 4.

Officers were called to the property after the occupiers discovered jewellery, cash, items of china and children’s Christmas presents had been stolen.

The suspects broke in through via the back door.

Detective constable Gemma White said: "The victims were away on holiday over the Christmas and New Year period and found a number of items had been stolen.

"They are absolutely distraught because their children didn’t get the chance to open their presents.”

Anyone with information about suspicious behaviour in the area that day is asked to contact Dc Gemma White on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
