TWO men have appeared in court accused of making an indecent image of a child.

David Shelton admitted making an indecent photograph of children but denied three further charges of causing a child aged between 13 and 17 to watch a sexual act.

Colchester Magistrates Court heard yesterday the indecent image was made in Halstead between November 11 2014 and December 1 2014.

The three charges of abusing a position of trust with a child were alleged to have happened in the north of England in 2014.

Judge Willard ordered Shelton, 45, of Beech Avenue, Halstead, to reappear before Chelmsford Crown Court on January 3.

Shelton was granted conditional bail and was told he must now register with the police as a sex offender.

Shelton appeared in court with a co-accused defendant - David Wilding, of Hogarth Court, Sible Hedingham.

Wilding, 27, denied nine sex related offences involving children.

He faced five charges of distributing an indecent image of a child, offences which were alleged to have happened in Braintree between November 2014 and December 2014.

Wilding also faced one charge of making an indecent image of a child in Braintree between November 2014 and February 2015.

A further charge accused Wilding of emailing a boy and asking him for indecent images which caused him stress and anxiety.

Wilding is also accused of causing a 13-year-old boy to send indecent images of himself in Braintree between September 2011 and September 2013.

The court was told Wilding faced an allegation that he caused a 14-year-old boy to send indecent images of himself sometime during November 2013 and March 2014 at Braintree.

Wilding was also bailed to appear before Chelmsford Crown Court on January 3.

The accused is not David Neil Wilding, also 27, of Sible Hedingham.
