ESSEX Police are on the lookout for more volunteer police cadet leaders in the Braintree region.

Due to the popularity of the Volunteer Cadet programme, the group are now in need of new volunteers to lead the newest unit of cadets in Braintree and Uttlesford.

Despite being a police run organisation, you do not need to be a police employee to become a leader.

Leaders have the opportunity to acquire nationally recognised qualifications in outdoor and sports leadership as well as internal training in Cadet programme delivery.

The Volunteer Police Cadets are a uniformed youth organisation for young people between the ages of 13 and 18 across the UK.

Cadets are provided with varied activities and opportunities to develop qualifications, enhance their inter-personal skills and confidence and achieve a sense of pride through supporting community policing.
