COMMUNITY spirit impressed judges as they took a tour around the gardens of Coggeshall.
As the annual Anglia in Bloom competition kicks off, judges met a St Peters ad Vincula Church in Church Green to begin the tour.
Two members of the Anglia in Bloom team, Sue Wilson and Brad Rawlings, showed them around.
Sue Wilson said: "The judges were extremely interested in the whole village and were so impressed with the community spirit which radiates throughout the schools, old people’s homes, allotments, residents and businesses.
"They loved being shown round the village on a straw filled trailer towed a tractor.
"At the end of a very enjoyable afternoon several of the Coggeshall Bloomers then joined us for a wonderful cream tea very kindly provided by Karen Marchink of Paycocke House."
The judging took place on Friday, July 22.
