A GROUP of toddlers got dressed up as their favourite superhero to raise money for charity.

Mini Professors is a class for pre-school children full of experiments, singing and stories.

At their class in Kelvedon on June 15, the group dressed up as part of a national campaign to raise money for Tommy's children's charity, who fund research into pregnancy problems.

Emma Cater, who runs the Mini Professors class in the area, said: "We had lots of fun learning about the forces involved in enabling things, such as birds, planes and even superheroes, to fly.

"We made our own flying superheroes and flew them through the air using our breath as the propulsion force and learnt about creating an aerodynamic shape to create lift whilst making paper aeroplanes.

"This was followed by our very own Great Flying Contest."

Over the week, 50 children attended classes and were sponsored to dress up - £120 was raised in Kelvedon, and Mini Professors along with sister companies Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense have raised in excess of £197,000 across the country.

Emma said: "It was great seeing all the children in their super costumes, especially the handmade ones.

"We had all the well known superheroes."
