A ROAD in Braintree hosted a street party among neighbours to celebrate the Queen's birthday.

Beadon Drive in Braintree held a community get-together on Saturday June 11 to mark Her Royal Majesty’s birthday.

There was a bouncy castle and games to keep the children entertained, as well as an egg and spoon race and three legged race to whisk adults back to their childhood.

Neighbours also spent hours decorating the street with bunting and putting up gazebos in case of rain.

Laura Webb, who organised the event, said: “The turn out and support from my fellow neighbours was fantastic, from helping putting the bunting and decorations up to the actual event.

“Without the community spirit the day wouldn't have happened.

“I would truly recommend anyone to have a street party.

“We have some amazing people who live down our street, which thanks to the street party, I can now call my friends.”
