A CHARITABLE ten-year-old girl had her hair trimmed to give to cancer patients after her beloved grandfather was diagnosed with the disease.

Chloe Williams, from Silver End, wanted to have 12.5 inches cut off her locks when discovering grandad, Anthony Bissett aged 62, had been diagnosed with incurable cancer.

Chloe, a year 6 pupil at Silver End Primary School, was also aiming to raise over £350 for the Little Princess Trust, which is the cost of making a wig.

A target which she has smashed by reaching over £600.

Chloe said: "My friends love it, they keep telling me they don't recognize me anymore.

"My teachers have all said I look more grown up and people keep touching my hair and saying how different I now look.

"A lot of my friends think I'm very brave and have done a great thing"

"I can't believe how much I've raised, I'm very pleased."

Chloe's mother Stef said: "Chloé wasn't phased one bit by it and never once showed any signs of it being something she no longer wanted to do.

"She was adamant she wanted to help others and make their battle easier. I am prouder than words can describe, I love how brave and strong she is being through our ordeal, she is taking everything within her stride and instead of getting upset and angry about what is happening to her grandad she is thinking positive and how she can help others.

"To date at the moment she has raised a staggering £602 with gift aid, that in itself is such an achievement from a ten year old.

"I have been stopped by so many people telling me how amazing Chloé is and what a kind heart for a young girl she has.

"I'm just proud she's my daughter and I've helped create such a gorgeous, selfless young lady who is willing to put others needs before her own."
