CUB Scouts from Black Notley joined in with groups around the country to help raise awareness of Dementia.
The 1st Black Notley group spent several evenings completing fun activities whilst learning how the illness affects sufferers.
The cub scouts took part in a game using wool, weaving a web to show how complicated simple tasks can be.
The kids were also taught how they could help by being patient and offering help to older relatives and people in the community.
One of the cubs who took part said: "I didn't realise how difficult things could be for someone with dementia. It's really made me think."
Leigh Calder, Cub Scout Leader for the group said: "It is a cross country initiative, we have got a project called the Million Hands and there has been resource packs given and each group picked one of the four charities to support.
"A lot of the cubs may have elderly grandparents, and so dementia might effect them."
More information about the Scouts Million Hands program can be found at: www.amillionhands.org.uk.
Black Notley Cub group meet on Tuesdays between 6.30pm and 8pm in the Black Notley Scout and Guide HQ.
