A TEA room in a picturesque village has been featured in a top BBC show.

Bosworth's Tea Room, in Finchingfield, was visited by celebrity antiques expert, Mark Stacey, during the show 'Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is'.

Mr Stacey popped into the traditional tea room, which is part of Wilking and Sons group of ten in Essex, with the intention of selling a historic barge teapot to business manager, Nicky Goldsack.

He explained the large decorative teapots were used in barges on the canals of middle England in the height of the Victorian era and, after some hard negotiating, the pair agreed a price before sitting down to cream tea.

Ms Goldsack said: "It was lovely to meet Mark after seeing him on screen and this fascinating teapot now has a new home where visitors have been intrigued to hear the story of its origin."

The programme was first shown on April 14 2016 on BBC1 and can be seen on iPlayer.
