Paramedics were called after a woman buying bananas in a Braintree supermarket was bitten by a mystery spider.
The woman, in her 60s, was in Sainsbury’s, in Tofts Walk, Braintree, was grabbing some fruit when a spider crawled out and bit her on the wrist.
A few minutes later, when she was buying her groceries, she began to feel light-headed and started suffering pain in her arm.
An ambulance was called at about 2pm last Friday and she was checked over, but did not require hospital treatment.
