Two brothers have made it to the finals of a prestigious competition.
Anthony and Stuart Facey, from Witham, have been shortlisted for the Young Groundsman of the Year accolade at the Institute of Groundsmanship Industry Awards 2015.
Stuart is working on the grounds at New Hall School in Chelmsford, while Anthony works at Whitgift School in Croydon. They both spend one day a month studying at Writtle College for their Level 3 Diploma in work-based horticulture.
Stuart said: “Anthony and I are delighted to be shortlisted for such an amazing award. It’s great to be able to study something we are both so passionate about and also be recognised for our achievements by the industry.”
Nigel Beckford, lecturer in horticulture, said: “It’s fantastic news that both Anthony and Stuart have been nominated for this award. It demonstrates their hard work and dedication to both their course and the industry has been acknowledged.”
