Essex County Council is recruiting for resilient and enthusiastic foster carers to support some of the most vulnerable children in the county.
The Therapeutic Scheme aims to support children's emotional, psychological and social development.
Children will have care from a range of professionals including weekly support from a clinical psychologist.
Children who will benefit from the new scheme will have experienced significant neglect or trauma and may display challenging behaviour such as difficulty in building relationships or anger management.
Previous experience of fostering is not necessary but applicants should have proven experience of working with challenging young people.
They’ll need to provide safety, boundaries and consistency and to work as part of a team of professionals to support the needs of the child.
In return Essex County Council offers a competitive weekly fee, specialist training, ongoing career development, 28 nights paid respite and high level support from a social worker and a clinical psychologist.
To find out more please call 0800 801 530 or submit an online enquiry form at www.essex.gov.uk/fostering
You can also attend a fostering information event on Wednesday October 7 at 7pm at The White Hart Hotel, Bocking End, Braintree.
