Nearly one in ten Braintree marriages end in divorce
Nearly one in ten Braintree marriages is ending in divorce, according to fresh figures.
Research carried out by Dr Andy Peloe, a technical consultant at Callcredit, revealed that almost one in ten people living in the Braintree area are divorcees, according to the latest census.
With 9.8 per cent of the Braintree population having experienced a failed marriage, the town ranked number 280 out of all 380 local authorities for its high divorce rate.
Traders in the town centre are even beginning to see a change in the type of people using their wedding services.
