Two Scouts have soaked up some culture in Japan for the adventure of a lifetime.
Melissa Bates, 15, and Jonathan Goold, 17, were two of 40 Scouts from Essex joining 30,000 from all over the world to take part in the 23rd World Scout Jamboree.
The Jamboree took place for two weeks across July and August and is designed to celebrate all aspects of scouting.
The event provides youngsters and adults with the opportunity to experience hundreds of activities, all focused on discovering new cultures, the environment, sustainable development and global issues.
