A MUM-of-two has called on the community to take a stand against the “lowlifes” responsible for a string of burglaries in Braintree.
Amanda Hume was the victim of an overnight raid on her home earlier this month and thinks better community spirit could beat the thieves.
The 48-year-old said: “There must be people out there in the community who know what these people are doing and are just keeping quiet.
“These things are happening to people who work hard and these lowlifes are getting away with it.”
Thieves broke in through a front window of Mrs Hume’s Byng Gardens home in the early hours of July 7, while she and her two sons were sleeping.
The following morning, the health and social care assessor came downstairs to find her great-grandmother’s jewellery box, handbags, and other items had been taken.
Anyone with information about the burglary should call Essex Police on 101.
