Braintree Town Football Club will find out next week if its long-awaited relocated plans could be scuppered by developers.
In Braintree Council's previous housing plan, scrapped last year due to new Government housing projections, a new ground for the club was included in a masterplan for a development between the Springwood Industrial Estate and Panfield Lane.
The council earmarked the site as a key growth area, which included at least 600 homes, a school, a neighbourhood centre and business land.
However, since the council's Local Development Framework was axed to make way for hundreds more homes, the future of the site has remained uncertain.
Now Phase 2 Planning and Development will hold a public consultation on its plans for the site next Friday and Saturday.
Lee Harding, chairman of Braintree Town, said the club had not been told whether a new stadium would form part of the proposals.
