A generous boy has raised £260 in memory of his father by making and selling loom bands at his school.
John Ray Junior School pupil, Owen Lawrence, nine, embarked on his fundraising mission for Farleigh Hospice, where his dad Ian, 46, spent his final six days in November.
Owen's mum, Gaynor, also rallied round her colleagues at Royal & Sun Alliance, in Chelmsford, to raise a further £1,410 for the charity and the family handed over their £1,670 total last Monday.
A spokesman for Farleigh Hospice said: "This is an incredibly selfless achievement for someone so young and is something we feel should be highlighted and celebrated."
