Circus organisers have been issued with an antisocial behaviour warning after advertising leaflets were fly-posted throughout the town.
Braintree Council officers contacted Santus Circus about the illegal offence of posting adverts on public and private properties after traders complained.
Posters advertising the circus, which came to Braintree’s Coldnailhurst Avenue between Wednesday and Sunday last week, were spotted on shops and on windows of vacant premises in the town centre.
Sylvia Thorogood, who runs Hedingham Models in Market Street, Braintree, said: “I have seen eight posters on the window of the empty hairdressers in Market Street and they were all over the empty shop next to the Nags Head."
