Mums who volunteer to help run a telephone support service for breastfeeding have been awarded for their hard work and commitment.
The voluntary breastfeeding peer supporters, who support new mums with breastfeeding, won Provide’s outstanding volunteer award.
Ruth Ellis, who lives in Braintree, collected the award alongside fellow volunteers Fiona Price, from South Woodham Ferrers, and Jess Menown from Boreham.
Other volunteers who could not attend the awards evening were Jean Wilson, Sarah Pells and Julia Watson.
Parents who would like guidance or support with feeding their babies can contact the confidential infant feeding support line on 07795 612776, which is open from 9am to 11pm seven days a week.
