A primary has gone from being rated “requires improvement” to “inadequate”.

OFSTED rated Shalford Primary School, in Church End, as “inadequate” in both the quality of teaching and the achievement of pupils in its latest report, published on April 21.

The leadership and management as early years provision were also criticised, being rated as “requires improvement”.

The school’s headteacher, Justin Wrench said: “We are exceptionally disappointed to learn that we have been rated Inadequate by Ofsted.

"The teaching staff and governors are working with Ofsted and the Local Authority to address the points raised."
