A Braintree-based security company, which installed tracking devices on floats at Notting Hill’s carnival, has won a prestigious industry award.

McKenzie Arnold, based in Crittall Drive on the Springwood Industrial Estate, was announced as the UK’s best security company at this year’s Event Production Awards.

The company won the accolade after producing innovative ideas in 2014, including installing a GPS tracking system for floats in the Notting Hill carnival.

The trackers allowed organisers to keep an eye on the flow of the floats along the route, preventing any blockages.

The company has also helped unemployed people in London gain work after the carnival by helping them gain qualifications at the McKenzie Arnold Sector Based Work Academy.

Managing director Martin Jackson said: “I am delighted to win the award of UK’s best security supplier.

“We pride ourselves at McKenzie Arnold on understanding our clients’ needs, ensuring that we deploy the most well-trained and experienced teams, and continually developing our offering based on our experience and learning’s in conjunction with our clients’ feedback.”
