Tickets are on sale for a popular garden opera.

Opera In the Orchard will take place on Saturday, July 11, at Bouncers Farm, Wickham Hall Lane, Wickham Bishops.

The event was founded by Robbie Bishop, who, while working in Rome went to many operas and realised that they were enjoyed by all the family from grandparents to grandchildren.

With this in mind he opened up the gardens of his home for performances of classical opera, encouraging families to see opera for themselves in a relaxed atmosphere.

The event is now in its thirteenth year and many people have been coming from the beginning.

It is also still a family affair run by Robbie’s children, grandchildren and friends.

This year, Garden Opera will be returning to perform a Gala Opera.

The evening will be compared by Peter Bridges who is the artistic and musical director of Garden Opera.

The singers enact the scene that they are singing in a very friendly and accessible manner.

Some of the music will be sung in English and some in the original language and a six-piece band will accompany them.

Tickets are £30, if bought before July 8 after which they will be £40.

Admission is free for children up to 18 years old.

Gates open at 3pm and performances start at 5pm.

Camping is £10 per pitch per night.
