A little girl whose mum is being treated for cancer is donating her hair to make wigs for children with the disease.
Kathleen Fisher, eight, was inspired by her mum Tracy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last October.
Mrs Fisher, of Gilchrist Way, Braintree, felt emotional when Kathleen said she wanted to cut her hair and donate it to the Little Princess Trust.
"I had chest length hair and when I found out I could possibly lose it, I had it all cut quite short in October," she said.
"She wanted to donate her hair to me."
Kathleen and her grandmother Susan Amos - who lost her husband Malcolm Amos to lung cancer last April - then did some research and found the children's charity.
The John Bunyan Junior School pupil will lose about nine inches of hair, which her mum, a trained hairdresser, will cut on Saturday.
