Help is needed to plant a circle of trees to mark the centenary of the First World War.
Braintree Council and volunteers will be at Marshalls Park in London Road, Braintree, on Saturday at 10am.
Five lime trees representing "remembrance, renewal, reflection, respect and resilience" will be planted, along with a native elm tree in memory of the late tree expert Melvyne Crow, who lived in the town and worked for the council.
He was instrumental in breeding a disease-resistant elm.

All tools and equipment will be provided - please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
