A convenience store was officially reopened by primary school pupils after it had a makeover.
The new-look Co-op store in Church Street, Bocking, was launched on January 20 after it shut for 12 days for a complete refit.
Headteacher at Bocking Church Street Primary School, Rosalind Welsh, took along six pupils from the school to cut the ribbon.
The school is one of the Co-op’s Community Card members, which means money will go to the school every time customers shop with their Community Card.
Store Manager, Dishal de Costa said: "Initial reaction by customers has been very positive, and I’m confident that we now have a great looking community shop that both staff, members and customers can be very proud of."
Chief Executive Officer for Chelmsford Star, Barry Wood said: "The store has been serving the village for decades but has in recent years looked tired.
"So, following the results of a resident survey carried out last year, and in conjunction with the Society’s refit strategy, a plan was drawn up to update the store incorporating where possible the aspirations of the residents."
The shop now offers more fresh food and hot drinks.
