A new caterer is being sought for a historic site.

Essex County Council, which runs Cressing Temple Barns, is asking businesses to bid to run the kitchen and restaurant at the visitor centre.

A spokesman said: "The catering offer over the last few months at Cressing Temple has been through a temporary arrangement with a contractor.

"The service they provided included catering for meetings, functions and events on a temporary basis.

"The council has now decided to advertise the opportunity with a view to a longer term relationship with a catering provider being established ready for the Spring.

"There has already been significant interest in this opportunity and we are looking forward to welcoming many new visitors in the new season.”
