Residents claim enough is enough after flash flooding continuously blocks a residential road.
Avenue Road, in Witham, is regularly blocked by stagnant rain water and residents are urging Anglian Water to urgently fix the problem, which they say has lasted for about 20 years.
On Thursday the road became impassible within two hours after heavy rain caused water to build up in the street and to rise onto driveways.
Poor drainage has been blamed and investigations have been carried out by Essex County Council and repair work by Anglian Water yet homeowners say nothing has changed.
Annie Northfield, 65, of Avenue Road, said: “It floods every time it rains, it doesn’t even have to rain for very long.
“This time it has come up right up onto our next door neighbour’s driveway."
