A dog's leg was cut to the bone when he cut himself on wire on a fence.
Dexter, a two-year-old labrador cross, was walking with owner Jane Turner on a public footpath off Straits Mill, Braintree, when he found a hole in a fence next to the path and crawled onto industrial land.
Mrs Turner, of Beech Avenue, Braintree, said: "Unfortunately, he couldn't get out again so had to crawl out under the outer fence.
"This fence had razor wire on the inside, down to floor level, and he cut his leg to the bone."
It is thought a private landowner owns the land, but he could not be reached for comment.
