Vandals have smashed a window at Bocking Cemetery to get inside the staff room.
Nothing was taken from inside the room at the cemetery in Church Lane, Bocking, but an electrical box inside the disabled toilets was damaged some time between 4pm on November 14 and last Monday.
A spokesman for Braintree Council, which runs the cemetery, said: “It was actually members of the Braintree Council operations team that reported the incident to the police on the morning of the 17th and staff were on site the same day assessing the damage and costing the repairs.
“The room was a staff mess room and there was nothing of value inside.”
Police also recorded that a hoax fire call was made from the building at about 11.30pm on November 16.
