A Rayne couple who worked on Lynda Bellingham's last film - in which she poignantly played a cancer-stricken mother - are giving a third of all proceeds to a cancer charity.

The actress, best known as the Oxo mum, worked with Donna Taylor and Robin Plummer, of DT Films, on the budget web mini-series, Too Close for Comfort.

It follows the story of a man who was adopted as a child and his quest to find his real mum, who then faces her cancer battle.

The series features Miss Bellingham's son, actor Michael Peluso, and the first programme racked up more than 20million Youtube views.

In another poignant twist, the actress was adopted herself as a child.

Her scenes were filmed just months before she lost her own battle with colon cancer last month.

Miss Bellingham sent supportive texts to writer and director Miss Taylor, 41, from her hospital bed.

Miss Taylor, of Brunwin Close, has now released Too Close for Comfort Part Two on Youtube as a tribute to Miss Bellingham and will give 30 per cent of all proceeds from the next four parts to Action Against Cancer.

In one scene, Miss Bellingham's character Mary tells Michael’s character Sam: “I’m not well. I’ve got cancer. I am not going to die. I am a fighter.”

Mr Peluso, 31, said his mother knew her cancer was terminal when filming her scenes but didn’t tell anyone.

He said: “She always put on a brave face even when the chips were down. She didn’t want anyone to worry about her.

“I wasn’t exorcising any demons by playing alongside her in such a poignant role - I was just aware I wouldn’t work with her again.

“She was so passionate and I believe this project helped her through.”
