Campaigners against plans for 350 houses and a new school building are hoping to overturn them by drumming up enough support at a public meeting.
The Coggeshall Community Action Group are holding a meeting at St Peter ad Vincula church, in Church Green, Coggeshall, next month in a bid to find enough protestors to stop the proposals to move a school into a new £30million building.
Honywood Community Science School hopes to have a new building on land it owns and land put forward by Marks Hall Charitable Trust and four landowners.
The 350 houses will be built on the school’s current site in Westfield Drive.
Money from the development will finance the new school and landowners involved in the project will also receive a share, with Marks Hall Charitable Trust expecting to receive up to £5million.
