A young father who died just months after being diagnosed with bowel cancer will be among those remembered at a hospice's annual remembrance service.
Braintree man Lee Abbott, 35, was diagnosed in May last year and was cared for by staff from Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford.
His wife Abbey and sons Zachery, four, and Sebastian, two, will join other grieving families to celebrate the lives of their loved ones at the hospice's Light up a Life ceremonies this Christmas.
Mrs Abbott, of Church Lane, praised Farleigh Hospice for its care and support.
She said: "He wasn’t just a patient to them, he was Lee Abbott and they ‘got’ him so quickly.
"His dignity and whole wellbeing was of the utmost importance to them all."
Light Up a Life will take place in Market Square, Braintree, on December 4 at 5.45pm and the Grove Shopping Centre, Witham, on November 27 at 6.30pm.
Donations given will help the hospice with its work.
