A former Shalford Primary School pupil has been awarded a top horse racing honour.
Chanelle O’Grady, 24, whose dad Paul runs O’Grady’s pub in Panfield Lane, has been named West Australia’s best apprentice jockey.
Miss O’Grady moved down under when she was 15 and shares the award with her partner Ben Paterson.
She told the Western Australian newspaper: “I really enjoyed my apprenticeship and was surprised by how far I got.”
