Extra journeys have been added to four First bus routes in Braintree and Witham.

Service 21 Black Notley to Deanery Gardens will have two journeys an hour for most of the day between Monday and Saturday, with buses every 20 minutes Monday to Friday between about 9.45am and noon.

The service 70 Chelmsford to Colchester via Braintree will have more evenly spaced journeys during morning and evening peak times Monday to Friday.

Most service 70X journeys will operate as service 70, providing an earlier bus to Chelmsford from Great Leighs and Little Waltham, and earlier buses to Colchester from Coggeshall and Marks Tey, to tie in with commuter demands.

The single morning journey and corresponding afternoon journey that currently start and finish at Rayne will instead start and finish at Braintree.

The 8.30am Chelmsford to Braintree and 9.12pm Braintree to Chelmsford journeys will no longer operate.

Passengers can take the alternative service 352 from Chelmsford to Braintree at 8.45pm.

There will be an extra morning peak journey in each direction on the service 131/132 Witham to Halstead via Braintree Monday to Friday.

And the 7am Kings Park to Braintree journey, which currently runs Monday to Friday on the service 30 Marks Farm to Beckers Green, will be axed.

Changes take effect from November 17.
