Newlands Shopping Centre is searching for budding young writers in the Witham area to take part in its spooky story writing competition.

Children from the area are being asked to write a story between 500 and 800 words with a ‘Spooky Halloween’ theme.

The closing date for the competition is on Sunday so there is plenty of time for children to put their thinking caps on and get creative.

From tales of ghosts and ghouls to stories of spook-tacular adventures, the Shopping Centre is inviting pupils to be as creative as they can with the All Hallow’s Eve theme.

The competition is open to children in secondary schools, aged 11-16, from the Witham area.

The winner will be presented with a hamper of Halloween themed goodies at the shopping centre in time for Halloween.
